Funny Fundraiser Many THANKS to everyone who attended and supported Friday night’s Funny Fundraiser. It was a huge success and great FUN for all! The profits add up to over $12,000 to support PTL activities for our students and a $1200 tithe for the Annual Fund! A special thank you for all the hard work to EVERYONE involved.
Thanksgiving Food Collection Each year we give the children an opportunity to show their thankfulness and share from their many blessings. Our Thanksgiving food collection starts now and continues through Tuesday, November 19. All donations will go to the community food pantries at the Lighthouse and at St. Luke.
PTL Meeting All school parents are invited to our monthly PTL meeting tonight, Monday, November 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the school library. Come find out what’s happening and share your ideas, opinions and support!
St. Luke School Clothing Sale T-shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, and more are available for the entire family, featuring our SLS logo. All orders will be taken online only and must be completed no later than Wednesday, November 13 at https://www.companycasuals.com/StLukeLutheranSchool. (Helpful ordering hint—First choose your clothing item and add it to the cart. Next choose the desired color and size, and then update your cart; at that point you can select the design/logo from the drop-down menu on the right before submitting your order.) Contact the school office with any questions.
Picture Make-up Day Students who were absent or need re-takes will have the opportunity to have their photos taken on Wednesday, November 13, first thing in the morning. NEW ORDER FORMS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL ABSENTEES/RE-TAKES and are available in the school office. Students who wish to have a re-take must return their original package of photos.
God is Great Concert Coming to St. Luke on Friday, November 15 is Jennie Williamson, Christian recording artist from AriSon Records. The concert will start at 10:00 AM in the activity center for the students, and any others who wish to attend. This concert will take the place of our Friday morning Chapel service; there will not be chapel at 9:00 AM. Later that evening at 6:30 PM, a family and community concert will be hosted by Redeemer Lutheran School at 700 Idaho Avenue, Verona, PA 15147. Before the concert everyone is invited to a Pizza Potluck at 5:30. Bring your favorite pizza to share! Everyone is invited!
Challenge of Champions Thanks to our 4th, 5th & 6th graders who participated in the 2019-2020 Challenge of Champions Competition on Saturday, November 9 at Butler Catholic School. Challenge of Champions, sponsored by Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV, is an annual academic competition among area nonpublic schools that encourages students to work together on mixed teams of ten students per team from each participating school, in a series of six events and one team-building activity. A total of 110 students participated from local area nonpublic schools—representing St. Luke: Oliver Siemer, Maxx Lang, Johnathon Senge, Isabella Zedak, Luke Salsgiver, Gabriella Lang, Eli Campbell, Cassie Busler, A.J. Morris, Madisyn McAfee, Amelia Turner, and Jacob Scanlon. Many thanks, also to our teachers and chaperones—Mrs. G-B, Miss Fett, Mrs. Hitchcock, Mrs. Lisa Morris, Mrs. Melissa Busler, Mrs. Angela Campbell, Mrs. Mary Senge, and Mrs. Nicole Messenger.
5th-8th Basketball Our practices are starting to take shape—Boys meet Mondays and Fridays, 3:30-4:45 and Girls meet Tuesdays, 3:30-5:00 and Thursdays, 3:30-4:45. We’ll keep you posted on any games scheduled.
Scripture Calendars We have A VERY LIMITED NUMBER of the stunning God’s Creation scenic photo 2020 WALL CALENDAR with NIV Scripture ON SALE NOW for $7.00. It makes a nice, thoughtful gift for aunts, uncles, bus drivers, mailmen, baby-sitters, grandparents, neighbors, teachers, hairdressers, and even your not-easy-to-buy-for family and friends. Profits benefit the 7th & 8th grade class trip to Washington, DC in May.
Christmas Shop The Christmas Shop will be coming to St. Luke on December 6th! We will be sending information home with your child soon, with an envelope attached. WE are in need of small and medium gift bags—if you have any to spare and would like to donate them, please send them in with your child.
